Acoustic Sessions!

Our Acoustic Sessions at The Bodega in July were a supreme hit, we’ll post all the videos from the events over the next couple of days for you to feast your eyeballs on.

Our final session last week featured the GOA Choir and Nina Smith, who were both incredible.

Search facebook for ‘The G.O.A Choir’ for more info on them, and go to http://www.myspace.com/ninasrhythm for more of Nina Smith, their videos will be up here shortly.

We’re chuffed the Acoustic Sessions went so well, thanks loads to everyone involved, especially Confetti Institute of Creative Technology, who supplied our equipment and in return we gave their young sound engineers-in-training some valuable experience. Win win.

A few cheeky snaps from our Acoustic Sessions, going strong so far, and continuing through to the end of July.

We’re focusing on showcasing some of Nottingham’s best acts in a chilled out atmosphere and an unusual setting- in this case The Bodega’s beergarden and downstairs bar, which are never normally used as gigging spaces.

We’d love to try our hand at other venues in town, even if they’ve never had live music on before. If you are interested, or you know someone who might be, send an email to creativenotts@googlemail.com and we’ll see what we can do.

The Acoustic Sessions.

Our first ever events are running this month!

They’re taking place every Thursday evening, 7-10, at The Bodega Social Club.

Our unique gigs will be in the beergarden, making the most of the summer as well as The Bodega’s Cider Festival! We’ll be featuring some of Nottingham AND Nottinghamshire’s best live acts, as well as it’s most talented artists. Nottingham’s own Confetti Institute of Creative Technology are kind enough to supply us with all of our technical needs, as well as engineers forthe events.

Our first one was on Thursday, and we kicked off with Sammi Ingamells, Daniel Cliffe, Bad Bad Bird and the fantastic Boat To Row.

It was a particular highlight for Bad Bad Bird who have only ever played one gig before [apparently it was rubbish], and this was their first ever gig in the city centre. They were incredible, managing to squeeze 7 members into the tiny space we had in the beergarden.

Next week we’ve got Marc Reeves, Cecille Grey and Ocean Bottom Nightmare, all doing their thing outside from 7.

We’re putting together the footage from Thursday into a short video, you’ll see it soon.

Hope to see you there, x

Keep an eye out for our flyers!x

An interesting time at The Council House…

On Thursday evening we were invited down to the Council House for an interesting evening of speeches and idea sharing.

Various creatives from around Nottingham, from business-owners to fashion designers, copy-writers to film makers, were asked to compose a 10 minute speech on their view on the word ‘dream’.

Cue some weird and wonderful talks, including:

making dreams come true on aid missions in India, why cities look more like nightmares, why closing down your shop might be the best thing you could ever do for your business, what happens when you work with a tourettes sufferer.

Someone even asked his girlfriend to marry him!

It was a great event, very interesting and a great chance to meet people.
